‘ How good God is ‘, a play in Hindi on the life of Claudine Thevenet, was staged in the college on 5th October 2018, the concluding day of the closing of JMC’s Golden Jubilee celebrations. The play was scripted and directed by renowned theatre personality Sanjeev Johri, and the cast and backstage team comprised of JMC students from various departments. It was jointly organized by Ms. Dolly Kapoor, Associate Professor Dept. of English, Ms. Sunita Narain, Associate Professor, Dept. of Mathematics, and Sr.( Dr.) Molly, Associate Professor, Dept. of History.
Perhaps the most touching and heartwarming event of the year, the Play beautifully conveyed the message of love, forgiveness and service as embodied in the life and personality of Saint Claudine Thevenet, the foundress of the congregation of the religious of Jesus and Mary which established JMC in 1968. Her mission to educate the youth, and young women in particular, is the founding vision behind JMC’s very existence and continues to motivate the college to empower young women through education.
With its insightful portrayal of Claudine Thevenet the Play moved the audience deeply and touched an emotional chord. It was indeed the perfect way to commemorate the completion of fifty years of JMC’s journey.
